Endodontics

Endodontics (root canal treatment) is a routine but highly skilled dental procedure which is needed when the blood supply and nerve supply the tooth (the pulp) have become infected due to decay or injury.

If left untreated, the infection can spread throughout the root system and the tooth and cause a painful abscess as well as unsightly tooth discolouration. Root canal treatment stops pain, prevents the spread of infection and saves the affected tooth.

Whilst straightforward cases required during general restorative care can be carried out at LCIAD, most cases of root canal treatment required are referred to my friend and colleague Dr Michael Sultan or his associates for specialist microscopic endodontic care at Endocare at 99 Harley Street, London W1.
